Review Policy & Rating System

If you are a publisher/author and are interested in contacting me about a book, you can do so at adayinbookland.noelia@gmail.com and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Bear in mind I only review adult books (excluding erotica) and sometimes middle-grade books. I do not review self-published books.

Here is my rating system. In the blog I will not use the star system but the numerical one. I feel it's more personal than the star rating which I find pretty limiting.

DNF: It will get no rating
1 star (1-2 out of 10): I finished the book but I disliked it. A lot.
2 stars (3-4 out of 10): a book whose faults outshined the good bits or a book that didn't work for me as a reader.
2.5 stars (5-5.5 out of 10): An okay read. Probably a story I liked as a whole but had its issues. Will recommend depending on the reader.
3 stars (6-6.5 out of 10): I enjoyed the book. It might not be perfect but it's worth the read. I recommend it.
3.5 stars (7 out of 10): I liked/enjoyed the book. Worth the read. Maybe not as good as a 4 stars due to some issues but one I recommend for sure.
4 stars (7.5-8.5 out of 10): I adored the book. I definitely recommend it.
4.5 stars (9 out of 10): Almost flawless.
5 stars (9.5-10 out of 10): A favourite. Flawless. A book I completely fell in love with.

Reading Diary | February Books | 2018

Feb, 1st - 15:15. Finished the second book in the first volume of the Riyria Revelations and I was pleasantly surprised. I still think the world building is the weakest thing about the story because it's not greatly developed but the story is well-written and entertaining. I'm planning on continuing reading the series because now I'm intrigued enough to want to know how everything will unfold. Feb, 7th - 10:33.  I'm finally prepared to go and see the movie Call Me By Your Name because I just finished reading the novel. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It is a celebration of love and an exploration of sex and identity. It's quite explicit though so if you feel uncomfortable with that keep it in mind if you're planning on reading it. My full review of the book is HERE (I also talk a little bit about the movie).
